How do I know how much data I have used?

You can check your data usage in your Metro by T-Mobile My Account.

In addition, you will receive a text message on your T-Mobile Internet Gateway as well as on the oldest voice line (by date) on your account. The first text message will let you know you have reached 80% of your data usage. A second text message is sent at 100% of data usage. If you wish to purchase additional data, you can call CARE at 611 or 1-888-8Metro8 or visit a Metro by T-Mobile store, to move to a higher T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan.

Why can’t I see my data usage in myMetro or My Account?

Data usage for your T-Mobile Internet Gateway is shown in My Account. If you are having trouble locating the information in My Account – please reach out to CARE at 1-888-8Metro8.

Data usage for your T-Mobile Internet Gateway is not available in myMetro .

What happens when I reach my data limit?

Once you reach your monthly data limit, your speed will automatically reduce to 2G speeds (128kbps). Customers may easily add data by purchasing another T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan at any time by calling Customer Care at 611 or 1-888-8Metro8 or by visiting a Metro by T-Mobile store.

What if the service does not work?

We are so confident in T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro that we will let you try it out worry-free. If it works, great! If not, simply return the Gateway to your local Metro by T-Mobile store within 14 days of signing up for service.

Service charges are not refundable.

If I add data with a new T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan, do I get an entirely new plan or the difference for that month?

If you add a new T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro data plan during your current payment cycle, you will receive the full amount of data offered in your new data plan.

If I add data with a new T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan, when do I get the new data?

Great news! The new T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan data will be immediately available for your use.

If I add data by purchasing a new T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro plan mid-cycle, when do I have to pay for the new data?

If you change plans mid-cycle, you will pay a prorated amount for the current month and the full amount of your new T-Mobile Internet Lite data plan at your next payment cycle.

What if I still have some data left when I dd data? What happens to it?

When you add data, your data usage will be set to 0GB and you will have the amount of data purchased in your new plan.

How long do I have to use the data when I upgrade?

The new data from your upgrade will be available until your next bill cycle date. Upgrading to a new plan does not change your current bill cycle date.

Example 1:
I have 100GB ($50) plan. On day 20 of my payment cycle, I add 150GB ($75)

  • New Data: 150GB
  • New Data Base Price: $75
  • Prorated Rate: $75 / 30 Cycle Days = $2.50 per day
  • Prorated Price: $2.50 * 10 Days Remaining in Cycle = $25.00

 

T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro Rate Due at Next Cycle:
$25.00 Previous Prorate + $75 New 150GB Plan = $100.00 (+ Any Wireless Charges)

 

Example 2:
I have 100GB ($50) plan. On day 20 of my payment cycle, I add 200GB ($100)

  • New Data: 200GB
  • New Data Base Price: $100
  • Prorated Rate: $100 / 30 Cycle Days = $3.33 per day
  • Prorated Price: $3.33 * 10 Days Remaining in Cycle = $33.33

T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro Rate Due at Next Cycle:
$33.33 Previous Prorate + $100 New 200GB Plan = $133 (+ Any Wireless Charges)

Example 3:
I have 300GB ($150) plan. On day 20 of my payment cycle, I add 100GB ($50)

  • New Data: 100GB
  • New Data Base Price: $50
  • Prorated Rate: $50 / 30 Cycle Days = $1.66 per day
  • Prorated Price: $1.66 * 10 Days Remaining in Cycle = $16.60

T-Mobile Internet Lite for Metro Rate Due at Next Cycle:
$16.60 Previous Prorate + $50 New 100GB Plan = $76.60 (+ Any Wireless Charges)

NOTE: All examples are based on Autopay pricing. The last data plan selected will be the plan that carries forward into the next payment cycle.

I am on the 300GB plan, and I have used up all my data before my next payment cycle. What are my options?

If you are on the 300GB T-Mobile Internet Lite plan and use up all your data before the end of your bill cycle, you will be throttled to 128kbps until the start of your next bill cycle.

What can I do to become eligible for the unlimited T-Mobile Internet plan?

T-Mobile Internet eligibility is determined at the household level. Household eligibility is based on network capacity, which is expanding all the time, but can also change as more customers join T-Mobile Internet. Metro by T-Mobile customers can find out if they are eligible for our unlimited T-Mobile Internet plan by visiting their local Metro by T-Mobile store.
