Change My Number
For times when a new phone number is necessary, use the details on this page to learn about the impacts, what's needed, and how to make the change.
Get prepared
- Before changing, consider using
Scam Shield . - Change your number at no charge once every 12 months.
- Additional number changes are subject to a $15 fee
- The change transaction may take up to 30 minutes to complete.
- Voicemail password remains the same.
- Services such as iMessage and FaceTiime may take up to 24 hours.
- Phone numbers are recycled and you may receive calls for the previous owner.
- Once the number is changed, the old number can’t be retrieved.
Make the change
- Contact us to change your number, preferably from another line.
- In the automated system, use the prompt "Change my phone number".
- After the advisements, you'll be connected to a representative to complete the change.
- Be prepared to provide your PIN, verification code, and requested area code.
