Yes, you can change plans at any time. However, moving to a lower cost plan within the first 6 months of activation or adding a line, you will incur a one-time rate plan downgrade charge of $50 to move plans. If you don’t want to pay this charge, you can leave Metro at any time without having to pay, or you can wait 6 months on your current plan. 

You do not have to give your phone back, but you will be assessed a rate plan downgrade charge if you switch to a lower cost rate plan during the first 6 months, after joining or adding a line, if you received a discounted phone

You can switch to a Metro Flex rate plan and get the same amazing Metro Flex deals as new customers on select devices when you stay at least 12 months and trade-in your phone.
